East Slavic, Church Slavonic, and Ukrainian Bible editions, manuscripts, translation projects, and online text sources relevant to research on Skovoroda and comparison with modern Ukrainian translations. Editions are separated at 1800: the period of Skovoroda and earlier, then later translations.
Older labels such as руська мова, руский язык, Russian, Ruthenian, Old Russian, and Church Slavonic overlap. Treat each source by date, region, script, and function rather than by modern national names alone.

9th-11th centuries in the strict sense
The first Slavic literary language, standardized around the mission of Cyril and Methodius. It is South Slavic in origin, not old Ukrainian or old Russian, but it became the source language layer for Slavic Christian writing.
Для Біблії: Earliest Slavic Gospel, Psalter, Apostle, and liturgical translations. Later Church Slavonic Bible traditions descend from this layer.
From the 11th century onward, with regional recensions
A liturgical and learned language, not a single everyday vernacular. In East Slavic lands it absorbed local Ukrainian, Belarusian/Ruthenian, and Russian features in different recensions.

Usually 10th-14th centuries
The East Slavic language continuum of Kyivan Rus'. It later diverged toward Ruthenian/Old Ukrainian-Old Belarusian and toward Muscovite/Russian lines.
Для Біблії: Biblical books from this period are usually Church Slavonic texts with East Slavic scribal/phonetic features, not vernacular Bible translations.
14th-18th centuries
The written language of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and Ukrainian-Belarusian lands. Ukrainian scholars often call its Ukrainian branch староукраїнська or проста мова.

Especially 14th-17th centuries as a separate Muscovite/Russian written tradition
The pre-modern Russian written vernacular beside Church Slavonic. It is distinct from Ruthenian/Old Ukrainian, although older scholarship sometimes used confusing names.
Для Біблії: Full vernacular Bible translation is late. Before the 19th century, Russian Orthodox biblical text remains mainly Church Slavonic.
18th-19th centuries for this project
Modern Russian before the 1918 spelling reform. This is the language of the Russian Synodal translation tradition.

- Add canonical book metadata and map bible.by numeric book ids to existing app Bible codes.
- Create a verse-alignment schema: editionId, bookCode, chapter, verse, originalText, normalizedText, sourceUrl, sourcePage, transcriptionConfidence.
- For facsimiles, run image/PDF OCR with review status rather than treating OCR as authoritative.
- Add website filters by edition, language, Testament/book, and source status.
- Later, connect Skovoroda citation popovers to local historical Bible texts instead of only external links.
