The East Slavic language continuum of Kyivan Rus'. It later diverged toward Ruthenian/Old Ukrainian-Old Belarusian and toward Muscovite/Russian lines.

The same Early Cyrillic inventory as OCS, but East Slavic scribes read several letters differently: nasal yuses were denasalized (ѧ→[a], ѫ→[u]), and ять tended toward [e] (later [i] in Ukrainian). Numeric values follow the Cyrillic numeral system.
